Nintendo Switch 2 in the making... - Console News - Page 0

Au aparut din ce in ce mai multe zvonuri si informatii despre urmatoarea consola a celor de la Nintendo, care banuim ca se va numi Switch 2. La partea de informatii, stim cu siguranta ca in cadrul Gamescom unii game developers au avut surpriza de a arunca o privire la ceva tech demos. Reactiile au fost extrem de pozitive, mai ales dupa ce a fost prezentat demo-ul celor de la Epic Games (The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5) si The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ruland la rezolutii si calitate mult superioare.

Pe partea de zvonuri, se pare ca Nintendo Switch 2 va folosi tehnologia de upscaling de la Nvidia (in cadrul demo-ului a fost folosit din pacate DLSS 3.1 si nu 3.5), precum si "boasted ray tracing and graphical fidelity". Ba mai mult, ni se spune ca noua consola va veni cu 12GB RAM (fata de doar 4GB RAM pe Switch).

Mai multe informatii (mai ales concrete) in acest moment nu avem, dar cum vom afla ceva extra vom prezenta cu siguranta. Vorbele spun ca Nintendo are ca target 2024 pentru noua consola, care cel putin in mod "docked" se va putea bate de la egal la egal cu concurentii PlayStation 5 si Xbox Series X (avand desigur avantajul ca poate fi folosita si ca o consola portabila).

Sunt tare curios, ce asteptari aveti de la noua consola Nintendo? Credeti ca in sfarsit va intra Nintendo in randul "next-gen" (more like actual-gen, really), sau vor ramane tot pe stilul clasic, cat mai "retro"?

Din punctul meu de vedere Nintendo va cauta un sweet spot intre fidelity si performance cu cateva compromisuri, probabil vom vedea ceva asemanator ca performanta cu xbox series S. Sper din tot sufletul la un ecran oled minim 1080p pe handheld. O veste foarte buna cu joystick-urile magnetice, sper din toata inima sa le iasa si MS si Sony sa bage la cap si sa scoata gamepaduri cu aceeasi tehnologie. Eu personal mi-as dori foarte tare o tehnologie stil apple silicon sau snapdragon soc care sa permita o durata de viata a bateriei mai consistenta, as zice ca 3-5 ore pe handheld mode ar fi ceva de vis.

Sad. Eu in locul lor as fi scos 2 variante, asa cum avem si la concurenta. Un Switch Lite si un Switch Pro, ceva de genul. Unul cu LCD (eventual chiar si lower res screen sau diagonala mai mica), si unul cu OLED, mai scump. In felul acesta i-ar impaca pe toti.

Ugh, Mediatek... Nintendo Switch 2: New Leak Points to More Powerful MediaTek Processor. Sper sa nu... Sau poate, cine stie, va merge Nintendo 100% pe ARM si atunci sunt sanse sa vedem jocurile lor si pe smartphones & tablets... ?

Ciudate zvonuri, odată-i Nvidia cu DLSS, odată-i Mediatek cu alt upscaling tech. Nu știi ce să mai crezi.
Posibil nu s-au decis nici ei încă și sunt in negocieri cu mai mulți hardware vendors.
De aceea demo-urile arătate de ei rulau pe un "target specs" machine, nu pe hardware-ul final.
Performantele nu cred că vor ajunge la nivelul PS5/XSX, că până la urmă e vorba tot de chipuri mobile; cât de puternic e iPhone 15 Pro-ul dar tot se vede că PS5-ul rulează RE4 Remake mai bine.
Dacă ar rula ca un XSS ar fi perfect pentru Nintendo, că ei se pricep să optimizeze foarte bine jocurile prin art direction și foarte mult polish. E un miracol cum rulează Tears of the Kingdom pe potato-ul de Switch.
Și legat de ARM - ar fi un vis frumos să vedem jocurile lor pe alte platforme, dar nu cred că se va întâmpla prea curând.
Ideea cu modelul OLED la lansare îmi surâde și mie, dar ar fi prea logică pentru Nintendo :)) .

Mda, performante de PS4/Xbox One ( nici măcar Pro sau One X) e mai ușor de crezut decât PS5.
E interesant că Nintendo niciodată nu au vândut o consolă în pierdere. Adică le fac intenționat cât mai slabe ca să aibă profit cât mai mare și din vânzări hardware, nu doar software.
Spre deosebire de Sony și Microsoft care au vândut PS5 și Series S/X în pierdere când s-au lansat.
Mi-aș dori foarte mult să facă și Nintendo la fel de acum înainte și să fie consola asta măcar ca un Series S de performantă.

Da lumea inca nu intelege ca Nintendo nu s-a bazat niciodata pe performanta ci pe IP-urile lor.

Vrei performanta portabila? Ai Steam Deck si alternativele sau chiar PS Portal.

Sa vina acum Nintendo cu o consola puternica ar fi chiar impotriva logicii lor. Ei au jocuri care ruleaza bine pe hw lor si au si niste portari care ruleaza decent spre penibil dar cand alegi sa joci 3rd party games pe cel mai slab hardware nu te prea poti plange.

Este mare pacat ca Nintendo au limitat ani de zile intentionat potentialul artistic al unor jocuri din universuri ca Zelda sau Mario, fortand lumea sa le joace pe un ecran mizerabil (chiar si cel OLED), la o rezolutie mizerabila si cu un framerate mizerabil.

Ce showdown artistic ar fi fost Zelda macar intr-un 1080p si in 60fps, dar asa efectiv te uiti la rezolutia aia SD de Switch si te ia durerea de cap...
Eu dupa ce am terminat The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild si Super Mario Odyssey (fabuloase jocuri ambele), nu am mai gasit motivatia sa imi rup ochii pe un ecran de Samsung Galaxy S2 in 20fps... chiar daca sunt multe elte jocuri superbe care asteapta in sertar :(

Despre Switch 2, pentru handheld, niste specs comparative cu PS4/Xbox One cred ca ar fi ok, pentru ce propun ei ca si stil artistic/grafica.

Nintendo nu s-a străduit întotdeauna pentru o putere de procesare maximă în comparație cu concurenții săi. Au preferat să se concentreze pe inovație și pe experiența unică de joc oferită de consolele lor.
