PS3Key Firmware Update 3.0 now available

We have just released PS3Key v3 updates for both Atmel PS3Keys and also made the open HEX code available. All of this is available in the download area.

The v3 update adds the functionality of the popular "Hermes v3" payload, with various modifications. Note that no serial number is required to download the open HEX update which can be be used on generic AVR devices.

In the past few weeks we have received several requests from distributors and end users who wish to be able to flash their PS3Keys with the very latest firmwares that are not yet available from ps3key.com.

As customer satisfaction is our number one priority, we have decided to release material and source code necessary to make this possible in the very near future.

The PS3Key update system was designed to protect end users from bricking chips with bad updates. A word of caution is therefore necessary here. If you experiment with custom updates your WARRANTY WILL BE VOID, and it is possible to BRICK the Atmel version of so that an external AVR programmer is necessary to restore any functionality. Generic AVR-based dongles and SiliconLabs-based PS3Keys are safer for experimenting with custom updates.

If you wish to use the product as advertised we strongly suggest you do not experiment with custom firmware unless you have some AVR experience and an AVR programmer on hand just in case.

We are now working on modularising the code and will release an update incorporating the "Hermes v4" features soon. We will also make source code and material for generating custom updates available soon. While compiling custom updates might add bleeding-edge features not yet available in the official PS3Key, it is not something we recommend for inexperienced users. Preferably, please be patient and trust us to deliver a safe update solution for you. It might take a little longer than the other versions available on the web, but you'll have the piece of mind that you're covered by our warranty in the unlikely event that something does go wrong.

Release Notes:
- PS3 Homebrew Manager. Is an application to drop the latest Homebrew Apps / Games / Emulators / Utilities on your PS3.
- This is a barebones version of what the goal of PS3 Homebrew Manager is. Check back often for releases.
- We are definitely missing many homebrew apps. Please feel free to tell us which ones to add on the forum.

To Do List:
- Make UI nicer. Especially on OSX.
- Ability to Patch already installed items vs full reinstall. (Useful for applications that would lose info otherwise)
- Handle applications that conflict (aka all the different managers).
- Build web interface for developers to update their own pkgs, information, website etc...
(Will build this if Developers tell me they want it. LMK via Forum / PM)
- Ability to transfer local supplementary files (Like for SNES9x).
- Lots more! I don't want to give away all my surprises.

How to
*Note: Errors will show up in the console text area at the bottom.
(1) Start up PS3 in Jailbreak mode and start thes PS3 FTP Server.
(2) Pick what you want to install and press the download button.
(3) Restart your console (WITH jailbreak) and it should be on XMB and ready to install

So why does this work? Well when there is a game patch/update installed, the PS3 completely ignores the original EBOOT.BIN and instead utilizes the one from the game update. So the UFC 2010 EBOOT is completely ignored. Technically you should be able to replace the MOH EBOOT.BIN with any other game�s EBOOT.BIN. You�re not stuck with just having to use UFC 2010′s EBOOT.BIN.
Previously it was reported that Medal Of Honor PS3 required Firmware 3.42 to run, but below is a video and guide on getting the video game working on PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.41 with Open Manager version 2.1

Other PS3 titles that previously required PS3 Firmware 3.42 are also being reported as now working using the same method (at least until Sony changes the NPDRM EBOOT keys) as well, including John Daly's Prostroke Golf and Castlevania although it appears Castlevania only requires 3.41 Firmware.

To quote from maquina07 on EOL: "Well, that I have run the Medal of Honor in 3.41 As to operation. Edit PARAM.SFO of the game so that requested the update 3.41.

Change the eboot of the game, the 2010 UFC. OM install 2.1 and start the patch to install game data on the external. (New Function button is activated to select) Install the update that calls for 1.01 and installed the game data with the V4 Hermes."

LS Cover Manager - PS3 Backup Manager with Covers Arrives

Indeed, this cover manager based on the Flex Manager V1.17b, adopts a clear and visual style takes the latter on logic-sunrise.
But this is not just skin, the Cover Manager and Manager Open them share the same ID games (OMAN46756) we can not have Open Flex Manager and Manager at the same time.
But every problem has a solution, the Cover Manager of LS did not "OMAN46756" as the ID but "LOGI72900.
Conclusion: Open OMAN46756 Manager / Manager Cover LS LOGI72900 can coexist together."

salut, am un psp 2001 care a fost modat deci placa de baza permite. pustiul a facut update la versiunea 6.20 si a pierdut modarea. ii poti face ceva? am citit ca ar merge cu baterie pandora.cat ar costa operatiunea? ms

am si eu o intrebare pentru o situatie mai delicata. Am cumparat un xbox 360 cu jtag facut. Cum aflu ce am instalat pe el freeboot sau xbr si daca am cum sa aflu eventual si versiunea lor.

PS3 SNES9X v4.3.7 Emulator Released

The latest version of the SNES9X PS3 emulator has been released. The latest revision brings a host of new features. Major improvements include, support for zipped roms, ability to change resolution via settings menu (no longer need 2 seperate pkg�s), a more readable gui (better font), and more.

Gameboy Color and NES Emulators for PS3

Note: When upgrading do not delete your old version, it will delete any savegames you've made. Just choose install package, when it tells you the current version is already installed just tell it to install anyway.

Gambatte:
� Supports Game Boy Mono and Game Boy Color
� Supports zip
� Press right stick to open menu, circle to exit menu
� Opening menu causes sound problems
� Press L3 + L1 to save state, L3 + R1 to load
� All saves are placed in the game folder

Nestopia:
� No zip support
� Not really ready for anything
� Press right stick to exit
� No saving or loading
� Package uses same 'icon' as gambatte

Both:
� VSync disabled to prevent sound issues
� Sound buffer code sucks

Next I hope to work on:
� Adding various settings.
� Load new game without exiting emulator.
� Overscan workaround for those with issues.
