Control multiplayer spin-off 4-player co-op PvE game:

Remedy Entertainment, developer of the award-winning game Control, has signed an agreement with 505 Games under which Remedy and 505 Games, an international video game publisher and a subsidiary of Digital Bros Group, will co-publish and develop a new 4-player cooperative PvE (player vs. environment) game, codenamed Condor.

Condor is a spin-off of the critically acclaimed Control game, which was published in 2019. Since its publishing, Control has been nominated for 11 BAFTA® Games Awards and received over 20 “Game of the Year” awards. The new game will be built on Remedy’s proprietary Northlight® engine and tools. Condor will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

We get that there is going to be skepticism about multiplayer. But I believe we can create shared experiences without compromising the unique DNA of who we are, or the stories we want to tell. Yes, we need to re-think our angles, our techniques, our mindset, but we see it as an exciting challenge: What would a Remedy multiplayer game look like?

Game Director Mike Kayatta is forthright when it comes to his new game.

“We’re actively avoiding coming even close to feeling like either of those things. I guess you could say that it’s a spin-off, but in the most positive sense of the word. It’s not designed to be some kind of lesser, bite-sized Control. FBC: Firebreak is its own, fully formed thing.”

The desire to educate people on what this game represents comes with good reason. With a gameplay world premiere in today’s Xbox Partner Preview broadcast, FBC: Firebreak isn’t just new for the Control series, or the wider Remedy Connected Universe – it’s new for Remedy as a whole.
