The process of launching your studio’s first video game is no doubt daunting enough, but creating it using hand-drawn and hand-inked cels in the style of classic animation is a challenge few would envy. This is the vision behind Cuphead, a boss battle focused run-and-gun with a 1930s vibe. A quick glance at the artwork shown here should convince you it’s a worthwhile cause; it’s inarguably a visually impressive game, taking cues from a bygone era of shimmering, hand-drawn animation.

An upcoming Xbox One game is going to take the console back in time a good 80 years. During its E3 presentation this morning, Microsoft showed a preview of Cuphead, an indie title that takes classic, Disney-style animation and turns it into a bizarre, gorgeous, and fast-paced arcade game. The game comes from StudioMDHR, which says that it wanted the title to have the look of a 1930s cartoon and the feel of a 16-bit platformer, which, as we're seeing, are two retro styles that appear to go incredible well together. The visuals are all hand-drawn and inked, and the music is all original jazz. There's no release date yet, but it'll be exclusive to the Xbox One.

Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact. We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in Mid-2017.

Oricum, mai bine asa decat sa avem jocuri incomplete (vezi Mafia 3).
daca un joc merita sa fie cumparat day 1, cuphead e jocul ala!
