    Crytek incheie un contract mare cu o firma "misterioasa"

    Tot povesteam referitor la stirea vinderii francizei "Homefront" catre Deep Silver, despre situatia fragila din punct de vedere financiar a studioului Crytek. Ultimele jocuri lansate, Crysis 3, Ryse, precum si jocul Free2Play - Warface nu s-au vandut suficient de bine, iar Crytek s-a vazut nevoit sa apeleze la restructurare, concedieri, vinderea francizelor. Cu toate astea in interiorul studioului ultimele luni au fost si mai problematice, incat s-a ajuns la imposibilitatea platei integrale a salariilor catre angajati.

    De aceea aceasta stire nu ar trebui sa mire pe cineva. In incercarea de a obtine un "extra capital" binevenit pentru a asigura supravietuirea studioului, s-a ajuns la incheierea unui contract cu o firma a carei nume inca nu este cunoscut. La GDC 2015, Crytek co-fondatorul Faruk Yerli si "head of PR" Jens Schaefer au anuntat ca:
    rather than securing funding from an investor as many had believed, the injection of money had come from a new licensing deal that it had been working on for a "long time"
    Yerli a tinut sa precizeze ca aceasta intelegere "imensa" va readuce firma pe drumul cel bun si va asigura viitorul (financiar) al firmei. Yerli a adaugat:
    “It was a huge one, probably the biggest one. I can’t say anything more in detail, but hopefully we’ll be able to announce it with the partner soon.” “A lot of people are under the impression we had to find a new investor or something, but that wasn’t the case. We made a licensing deal,”
    Anuntul referitor la aceasta licentiere va fi publicat in mod oficial in scurt timp, a tinut Yerli sa ne asigure. Dar speram ca Crytek si motorul lor grafic CryEngine care au motorizat seria Crysis, precum si mai noul Star Citizen nu vor disparea prea curand.

    Sunt convins ca daca scoteau Ryse si pentru PS4 , altfel statea treaba , situatia era oarecum previzibila , la cate console xbox one erau vandute , ce incasari sperau sa aiba , deci asta inseamna management cretin !!!

    Fii inteligent si documenteaza-te! Au fost bagati la fund de decizia de a scoate free to play, in special jocul Warface...

    Da a fost o decizie proasta cu Warface , dar sunt convins ca daca scoteau Ryse si pentru PS4 , avand in vedere la cum s-a vandut consola Sony atunci , altfel era situatia financiara acum .

    Multumiri pentru stirile aduse!

    @toto, acelasi lucru se poate spune despre toate jocurile exclusive, insa rolul unui joc exclusiv este de a atrage cati mai multi potentiali clienti sa cumpere consola pe care se lanseaza jocul respectiv, desi Ryse nu este tocmai un joc exclusiv X1 deoarece a fost lansat si pe pc.

    Eu cred ca e strict legat de un management defectuos. La naiba, Epic cu Unreal Engine pe care-l dau moka, face bani frumosi... iar Crytek care cerea o caruta de bani pe engine-ul lor, intra in faliment...

    As adauga ca si Sony ar fi avut mult mai mult cash si nu ar fi cu finantele pe rosu daca scotea Uncharted 1-3 pe Xbox360...WTF! Incetati sa porniti rahatul asta cu Xbox vs PS si Sony vs MS ca nu ne ajuta cu nimic. Mai bine va ganditi sa nu mai faceti preorder la jocuri care nu au beta sau trial si poate asa vom avea parte de jocuri mai bune din prima zi... ca doar de asta suntem aici!

    Sunt sigur ca cheltuielile de dezvoltare au fost acoperite intr-o masura destul de mare de Ms, mai ales daca tinem cont ca jocul a fost convertit dintr-un joc pt Kinect pe X360 intr-unul de Xbox One. iar vanzarile de 1.1 milioane plus copiile digitale nu cred se pot numi esec. Daca sunt pe pierdere sunt strict datorita managementului defectuos si atat!

    According to a report on Kotaku, Amazon has licensed Crytek’s CryEngine and paid something in the range of $50-$70 million. The exact number could not be identified.

    The anonymous sources say that the money helped the developer through its recent financial struggles. Which went as far as to keep them from paying employees on time.

    Crytek has recently said that it had signed a “big” publishing deal that would enable it to continue on.

    The sources say that Amazon is using CryEngine as a baseline to build its own engine on.

    Amazon has showed interested in developing games on multiple occasions. The giant has already started a development studio and hired a number of industry veterans to work on projects that we’ve not yet seen anything come out of.
