Playground Games, creatorii seriei de curse open-world Forza Horizon, au anuntat deschiderea unui nou studio care se va concentra pe dezvoltarea unui noi IP "non-racing". Fondată în 2010 de către o echipă de veterani din studiouri cu renume in jocuri de curse, cum ar fi Codemasters, Bizarre Creations și Criterion Games, PlaygroundGames a dezvoltat trei titluri Forza Horizon în parteneriat cu Microsoft. Studioul este independent insa si nu se stie inca daca noul joc va fi exclusiv Microsoft. Acesta stire va marca o nouă provocare pentru un dezvoltator care a creat anterior în mod exclusiv jocuri de curse.
Fondatorul Playground Games, Ralph Fulton a declarat pentru GamesIndustry.biz
"Opening another studio is something we've been talking about for a good few years, but we've been keen not to rush into it." "It's a great opportunity for us to test ourselves in a different genre."
""We feel like we've become pretty good at racing games over the years," said Fulton. "We can always get better, we can always strive to get better but we'd love to prove ourselves in a different genre. That's another goal of Project 2, to allow us to do that. We're going to need to hire some very talented people with experience that we don't have."
