Dark Souls Will Get New Multiplayer Oriented Patch
Video game developer From Software has announced that it will be releasing a new patch for its recently launched Dark Souls, which will be focused on solving the problems with the multiplayer side of the game.
The patch details posted on the official website of the game talk about fixing a number of spells and effects, like Magic Shield and its variations, Tranquil Walk of Peace and Reign of Fog, but also about addressing some instances where magic and items could be used without any limits.
Dark Souls will also be re-balanced, with regular weapons now better able to take on reinforced weapons, and the player matching will be improved.
The patch will also fix some problems with the switching the game does between maps.
Dark Souls relives on multiplayer to help out players who are in a tough situation by allowing others to enter their game and lend a hand in defeating their enemies, although betrayal is always a possibility.
The developers at From Software have not said exactly when the new patch will be launched, bringing the game up to version 1.04, and at the moment it is only listing as arriving on the PlayStation 3 from Sony.
Just after the Japanese version of Dark Souls was launched the developers took down multiplayer in order to fix some issues and another patch has resolved a number of problems linked to game freezes.
Dark Souls is one of the toughest video games available at the moment, but it's difficulty level is what attracted gamers to it.
Players can expect to get no clear guidance about their in game actions and will have to rely on trial and error in order to progress.
Dark Souls is a sort of sequel to Demon's Souls and delivers improvements on the melee combat and on how boss fights are handled.
