Bineinteles ca eram suparati stiind ca varianta Enhanced a lui Baldurs Gate anuntata pentru vara lui 2012 va fi lansata doar pe PC, insa mie unul mi-a mai trecut supararea cand am vazut azi anuntul oficial al celor de la Overhaul Games (cei care se ocupa de varianta Enhanced a pentru Bioware) prin care aflam ca pe langa versiunea de PC va fi lansata si cea pentru iPad. Nu stiu cati dintre voi detineti un iPad, dar pentru mine a devenit o noua consola... iar acum odata cu lansarea noului iPad, un iPad 2 a devenit mult mai accesibil (ca pret).
E mai mult ca sigur ca nu e doar un zvon, cei de la IGN deja avand posibilitatea de a testa jocul pe iPad, in o varianta ce pare a fi cea finala. Acesta se pare ca se foloseste de Baldur's Gate II Infinity Engine... ceea ce poate insemna ca daca va avea succes, vor mai urma si alte RPG-uri de calibru mare pe acelasi engine. Din pacate nu sunt date detalii legate de faptul ca ar rula in Retina mode... but we can only hope! :)
The iPad port will include all the improvements and additions found in the PC version, including full integration of the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack. The title is also running on the refined Baldur's Gate II Infinity Engine, allowing gamers to experience the original adventure with the sequel's refined graphics options and other engine tweaks.
Overhaul has promised that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will also feature brand-new story content including more quests and a new party member. Although these details are for now under-wraps, the company has promised that all of the additional story content will also make its way onto the iPad.
I had the opportunity to go hands-on with an early build of Baldur's Gate iPad, and my initial impressions leave me optimistic about the potential of this huge port. For now, Overhaul is primarily demonstrating that this is indeed Baldur's Gate, running on an iPad. It exists, it runs smoothly, and as a company representative put it, "the technical issues are behind us."
