OFF : Lasa-l pe "Bufnici" ala.Mai bine ramanea la reviewuri de autoturisme...
ON : Stiti cat va fi pretul la Dualshock 4 in Romania?
Call Of Duty: Ghosts Has A 50GB Install On PS4
'Knack' Edges PlayStation 4 Ahead Of Xbox One For Family Gamers - Forbes
Although both Xbox One and PS4 have plenty to offer families, in terms of launch day games Knack edges the PS4 ahead for my children.
This is going to get messy. Distinguishing between the pros and cons of two very different systems is at best tricky and at worst ill advised. However, the families I work are increasingly asking which is the console they should choose — and yes, casual gamers early adopt too.
Answering this question I usually talk about identifying which launch titles they will get the most value from. After all buying any technology on day one is all about those “ahead of the curve” experiences you get for your money. Every one else will have them too when they jump on board, but you are likely paying a little more to be there first.
Spending time with Knack on the PS4 I have been more than a little impressed by the top notch quality of game-play mechanics, story telling and Pixar-like presentation. To have a game like this as a launch title is more than a little surprising.
In case you’ve missed it, Knack is a game developed by Japan Studios and Mark Cerny, lead architect on the PlayStation 4. This is no small thing, as you discover when playing the game. What is at heart an action platformer soon opens out to reveal a host of hidden treasures and power-ups, not to mention a well balanced combo system.
You play as a small robot, Knack, who discovers he can levitate ice, metal, wood and other substances around his body. This both enables him to drastically increase in size as well as access special abilities that relate to each material. At first I wondered whether this was incorporated just to let the PS4 flex its processing power, however its integral nature to the rest of the game make it clear this was fundamental from the start.
Some may complain that this could be achieved on older hardware. This may be true in part, although the scale of things would likely suffer, but for me that makes it all the more impressive. At a time when other “Launch” games are sliding back into the slippery named “Launch Window”, Knack stands as a statement of intent. The PlayStation 4 is as much for families as any other demographic.
It’s a message underlined by other PS4 titles like indie games Hohokum and Octodad as well as by the family friendly cross-buy features for Flower and Flow. Also, I’m more than a little taken with the now default Remote Play feature on PlayStation 4 games. This not only means that I can play and access any of my gaming/media via my Vita from anywhere in the world, it also means I can free up the main TV like I do with the Wii U.
Now, of course this all needs to be balanced with the knowledge that each and every platform is working hard to accommodate and attract families. We are still really enjoying games like Wii Party U and Nintendo Land on the aforementioned Wii U, and I’m hugely excited about the new Kinect sensor on Xbox One.
As a statement of intent, and creating a platform that is future proof, the inclusion of Kinect with every Xbox One purchase is laudable. Having it there in the box, like the default inclusion of the Wii Remote, legitimates a whole raft of games that would otherwise not be viable with an optional add-on controller.
However, at launch this is tempered somewhat by a lack of games that make full use of that Kinect sensor. Ryse: Son of Rome may use some voice commands, and you will be able to control the new Xbox One media ecosystem with Kinect but I think families really need a game at launch to legitimate the investment in that kind of technology.
Kinect Sports Rivals is coming soon after, in “Launch Window”, and once it does arrive I think will change things substantially. The original Kinect Sports is what sold me on the first Kinect controller and offered an experience I couldn’t get anywhere else. We still play Kinect Sports on 360 today.
Trying Kinect Sports Rivals, and having a peak at what the new Xbox One Kinect sensor could “see”, was more than a little eye opening. Not only could it accommodate play much closer, and in a smaller area, but the level of fidelity it could see was jaw dropping — not only detecting finger movement and breathing, but also whether I was smiling.
As you can see, Rare have really got to grips with the advancements in this technology and (with it being packed in) I’m sure others will soon follow, like the very promising Fantasia Music Evolved from Harmonix. But until these games arrive it’s hard to count Kinect in the plus column for day one purchasing decisions.
Which brings us full circle back to Knack which stands out as something unique and very appealing for families. Like the little robot himself, it’s a game easily overlooked but seen in context punches well above its weight as the two new platforms fight it out this holiday season.
Consola nu s-a lansat inca, dar stim ce va contine primul update de firmware:
PS4 system software update 1.50 detailed – PlayStation.Blog.Europe
The system software update 1.50 is approximately 300 MB, and will include the following features:
- Remote Play
Users will be able to access PS4 titles displayed on their living room TVs and play them on a PS Vita system over Wi-Fi networks by using PS4 Link (Depending on network environment or titles, remote play performance may vary outside of the home). We anticipate that most PS4 titles will be playable on the PS Vita system through Remote Play. The latest PS Vita system software version, to be released soon, will be required to use PS4 Link.- Second Screen
Users can use the PS4 Link application for the PS Vita system, and PlayStation App for iPhone, iPad, and Android-based smartphones and tablets, to use these devices as second screens in supported titles. PlayStation App has the ability to enable users to interact with games with their mobiles devices. For example on The Playroom, a title pre-installed in all PS4 systems that requires PlayStation Camera, users can draw pictures on their mobile device screens and flick them towards the TV. The images then appear as a 3D object within the game.- Record, take screenshots, and upload gameplay effortlessly
The PS4 system provides dedicated, “always on” video encoding systems that enables seamless uploading of gameplay. Users can share their epic triumphs by simply hitting the Share button on DualShock 4, take screenshots or scan through the last 15 minutes of gameplay, tag it and return to the game – the video uploads as the user plays. At the PS4 system’s launch, users will be able to share their images and videos with friends on Facebook and screenshots with followers on Twitter, though users will need to sign up for individual accounts to use Facebook and Twitter.- Broadcast and spectate gameplay
The PS4 system also enhances social spectating by enabling users to broadcast their gameplay in real-time to game fans around the globe, using Ustream and Twitch live internet streaming services (users will need to sign up for individual accounts to use Ustream and Twitch). There are two ways for users to view live broadcasts. First, the Live from PlayStation application on PS4 aggregates streams from all PlayStation users. Second, users can spectate friends’ PS4 gameplay from PCs, and applications such as Ustream, Twitch, and browsers, which are installed on their mobile devices. These applications can be easily started up via PlayStation App, and users can also use these applications to post comments to gameplay broadcasts. Furthermore, users with PlayStation Camera can stream camera images and microphone sounds along with their live gameplay broadcast.- Play as you download
This feature enables users to play supported digital titles as they are being downloaded. The time it takes to begin playing will vary depending on game data size and network environments, and not all titles will support this feature When a game is purchased, users can start playing after PS4 downloads a portion of the data, while the rest of the game is downloaded in the background during actual gameplay. Games may be downloaded in stand-by mode.- Multi log-in
A maximum of four users can log-in to a single PS4 system simultaneously. These players can use their own save data to play games, and also earn trophies on their own Sony Entertainment Network accounts even when playing a multiplayer game together on a single PS4 system.- Party (Voice chat)
By using the Mono Headset bundled with the PS4 system, users will be able to chat with up to eight friends enjoying different applications or games. Furthermore, users can use Party to chat between PS4 and PS Vita systems.- Face recognition and voice commands
Users with PlayStation Camera will be able to register their facial image onto their PS4 system, and login to their system using facial recognition instead of DualShock 4. Furthermore, users can use either the microphone of the Mono Head set connected to DualShock 4, or PlayStation Camera to navigate through the PS4 home screen (PlayStation Dynamic Menu) with voice commands to start up games and shutdown the system, among other features; please refer to PS4′s online manual for recognizable voice commands.- Background music player
Users can enjoy gameplay while listening to music in the background with Music Unlimited, a cloud-based digital music service. Users can also voice chat with friends while listening to music. Learn more about Music Unlimited here (LINK: Music Unlimited | Sony Entertainment Network).- Online Multiplayer
PlayStation Plus members will be able to play PS4 titles online with other players via the network. PS Plus makes it easy for members to join available online multiplayer matches in a variety of ways, including the ability to easily join a game from a live stream broadcast or Party voice chats.- Blu-ray Disc and DVD player
Users can enjoy not only gaming on their PS4 system, but also Blu-ray and DVD video contents. When using for the first time, users must connect to the internet to activate this feature.
Some features will not be available at launch, such as “suspend/resume mode” which is a feature that keeps the PS4 system in a low power state and promptly takes users back to their game. We will provide additional information about system software update version 1.50 and features available at the PS4 system’s launch, and features that will be available after launch, in the near future.
