PS4 receives mixed reviews from Amazon, excited users clash with Day One problems -- PlayStation Universe

Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, has been flooded with reviews about the PlayStation 4 since its November 15 release, and the reviews seem to represent the many highs and lows new owners are experiencing. Currently the site has approximately 800 PS4 reviews, and the console stands at an average score of 3.5 out of 5 stars, using Amazon's rating system.

A lot of these reviews are very positive, with comments such as:

"I'm extremely satisfied with my new PS4. The thing looks slick, runs extremely quietly, it doesn't seem to get very warm, even after long play sessions. I haven't had it for long but I'm having a hard time thinking of anything critical to say. I'll definitely be recommending the PS4 to anyone interested in a game console."

Then there are those who are obviously having the PS4 problems we recently reported on, who have left comments like:

"Unfortunately I can't review the product too much yet since, out of the box, it fails to work....The system turns on, but does not output a video signal or boot up. The bar of light on top of the system continues to flash blue, but never turns white as it is apparently supposed to once it has started up. Attempts to boot it into "safe mode" to potentially diagnose or fix problems (such as reinstalling the firmware available on Sony's website) do not work as the system immediately turns off after the second beep instead of entering safe mode. That's about it. It beeps, flashes blue, and sits there until you shut it off."

At this stage, it's still early days for PS4 reviews. Indeed, PSU's review of the PS4 is on its way--we're taking our time and approaching the console from every angle before we offer a score from multiple editor perspectives.

*sunt cateva probleme din cate vad cu ps4-le. Am prins una dintre ele au fost 2 din cate stiu.

Stream-ul e direct din PS4. Merge impecabil

Pai din cate am vazut au incercat un joc si imediat dupa ce au intrat in el rezolutia s-a schimbat si consola "s-a blocat" intre rezolutii. Au dat restart consolei si n-a mai pornit. Au mai incercat de cateva ori si a intrat in safe mode si s-a rezolvat problema. Cred ca jocul era COD Ghosts (probabil faza aia cu 720p -> 1080p) a dat cateva chestii peste cap...

Si a mai zis tipul ca se joaca de ~ 23 de ore si ca si asta ar putea fi una din probleme.

nu stiu daca ajuta pe cineva dar daca consola va avea acea lumina albastra care pulseaza, de care vorbeste lumea, se poate repara PS4 urmand urmatorii pasi:

. Hold down power button until the unit powers off and the light goes out. This took about 10 seconds.
2. Enter Safe Mode by holding down the power button until you hear 2 beeps. Release power button after the second beep. The Safe Mode menu will appear with a list of options.
3. Select Option 4 to restore PS4 to factory defaults. Once it's done, the system will restart.
4. In our case, after the reboot, the PS4 automatically entered Safe Mode. This time, they had us select Option 6 to Initialize the PS4. Note that by doing this, you will lose profiles and settings so just be aware that you are basically starting over. Once it's done, the system will restart.
5. When the PS4 comes back up, it will take you through the initial setup again as if it's being booted for the first time.

Hai ca am facut si eu comanda la Altex. Mi-au promis ca imi ajunge in 13 decembrie, iar pretul e 1799.

Unii din noi avem comanda la Altex de luni bune... Data aceea e scoasa "din burta". Initial au zis ca va fi in launch day, dupa care 2014, acum Decembrie. Cred ca nu au habar de fapt cand vor veni.

Adica s-a "descoperit" ceva ce se stia de la inceput ca exista? Cred ca de la prima conferinta despre PS4 cei de la Sony au spus foarte clar ca va exista un procesor care se va ocupa de streaming si background tasks.

Pana acum solutia asta nu a ajutat pe niciunul din cele aproape 100 de cazuri de console busite de pe reddit. Eu unul ma gandesc serios sa-mi anulez comanda pana nu vad o solutie reala. Daca vine busita, ma costa o caruta de bani sa o trimit inapoi spre amazon.

Mi se pare inadmisibil să updatezi firmware-ul originala şi să te trezeşti ca ti-ai brick-uit consola.

Ba eu nu inteleg cum dracu cei de la Sony nu ofera garantie internationala , eu mi-am luat laptopul Toshiba din Olanda si cand mi s-a stricat am sunat frumos la cei de la Toshiba si mi l-au reparat,fara probleme si nici nu aveam garantia sau factura doar prin faptul ca aveam inregistrat produsul online , pierdusem actele.

Cum spunea cineva de pe reddit, diferenta dintre lansarea aceasta si toate celelalte este ca in ziua de azi toata lumea are acces la cel putin o retea de socializare deci e foarte posibil ca numarul cazurilor sa nu fie asa mare cum se pare.

I can confirm your warranty would be with SONY. If your console was faulty this can be returned directly to SONY for repair / replacement.
