The Last Guardian development “alive and kicking”, says Yoshida | VG247

Speaking with CVG, the exec said, “It’s alive and kicking in terms of development,” and added, “If you visit Japan Studio there are lots of people working on it.

“But as [designer Fumito Ueda] shared with people a couple of months ago, we really want to be confident next time when we introduce The Last Guardian to the public, so we are waiting for that time to come.”

It goes against what SCEA boss Jack Tretton said yesterday. twice now that Yoshida has confirmed the game is still in development.

With the curtain soon to close on the PlayStation 3 generation, is time for fans to give up hope on The Last Guardian ever coming out?

The team is still there in SCE Japan Studio, [Fumito] Ueda-san is still there, but we are still waiting for the time to reintroduce it.

Speaking to IGN, Rohde refused to comment on rumours that the game has moved from its original platform of PS3 to PS4, or discuss which Worldwide Studios teams are working on the project.
“[I'm] not going to announce what platform it’s coming on, who’s working on it, who’s involved,” he said.
“But that is still a title that’s absolutely in the mix at Worldwide Studios. That’s the most you’re gonna get.”
Rohde said that SCE remains committed to the project, partially because fans are so passionate about it.

“We want to make great games. And when we see that the public is so interested in a specific game, of course that drives us to want to complete that game. But it also drives us to want to make it great. We would not want to ship that game if we don’t think it’s great,” he said. “I love that people are still interested in it. That’s an honour to us. That’s not just me spinning. It’s really cool that people are still interested in it, and we’re trying to make the best thing we can out of The Last Guardian.”
The Last Guardian is the third game from Team Ico, following Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, It has been in the works for something like eight years, during which time Team Ico leader and chief creative Fumito Ueda has resigned – although he did stick with the project as a contractor.
In 2012, SCE Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida said multiple teams including SCE Santa Monica Studios had been brought in to consult on The Last Guardian, which was experiencing technical difficulties SCE Santa Monica later said the comment was misquoted, and that it is not working on The Last Guardian.
As of August last year, Ueda said the team is working hard but*The Last Guardian is not a priority at Sony.
Combining elements of both former Team ICO games, The Last Guardian has players guiding a huge beast through what looks like a huge castle complex. It was to have been Team Ico’s first PS3 game. It looked amazing.

-un 'enemy' care arata ca cei din ICO (shadow like) apare la un moment dat in trailer
-legatura stransa intre cele 2 personaje
-peisaje,'castelul' in care se desfasoara actiunea din trailer,felul in care e imbracat baiatul

Daca te uitai putin mai atent vedeai ca trailer-ul pe care l-ai urmarit, este chiar al jocului The Last Guardian. Acel trailer a aparut la Tokyo Game Show in 2010. De atunci nu cred ca am mai auzit nimic despre joc..doar cate o scurta stire si atat.

• Sony Abandons The Last Guardian Trademark

Original Story: Sony has abandoned its trademark for The Last Guardian with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The USPTO comments that the trademark was "Abandoned because no Statement of Use or Extension Request timely filed after Notice of Allowance was issued."
This isn't the first time Sony has abandoned the trademark, having previously done so in 2012. It's unknown at this time if Sony intends to submit a new trademark application.
The Last Guardian was first announced in 2009 as a PlayStation 3 game from the team behind Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Players would take on the role of a young boy and a giant hybrid creature to solve puzzles and progress through the story.
Sony has consistently denied that the game has been cancelled, saying they "laughed" at rumours last summer. It's possible that Sony intends to re-reveal the game under a different title.
As recently as December, game director Fumito Ueda - who began the project at Sony but now works as an outside consultant on the game - said progress was being made "under completely new conditions."
