VG247 Blog Archive “Players had a very high expectation” of FFXIV, says Tanaka (mie imi spui . Ma asteptam ca FF XIV sa aibe note de la 8,5-9 in sus ....in schimb au fost de la 4-4.5 in jos )... mai bine ar aduce si FF XI pt Ps3 (mi l-as lua pt ps2 da cine stie cum merge si daca mai merg serverele pt ps2 )

VG247 Blog Archive Free trial period of Final Fantasy XIV extended once more
Square Enix has extended its free trial of Final Fantasy XIV for another 30 days.

This will give players plenty of time to explore the new updated being added to the game on November 25.
“We are adamant that you should be given the opportunity to experience these changes firsthand before deciding to fully commit to the game,” said the company on the game’s official website. “We encourage everyone to view today’s post, as well as the previous Topics post from November 11 outlining the development team’s roadmap for the coming months.”
Square’s senior vice president of software development, Hiromichi Tanaka, said previously gamers had a “high expectation” for the game and the firm was working hard to ensure it ends up being all it was expected to be.
Back in October, the game was given a 30 day free extension due to the state of the game.
This new free trial extension is available to all who registered a FFXIV service account and purchase a character by November 19.
The PS3 version is out in March next year.
poate pana in martie avem noroc si o sa devina jocul fara taxa lunara (sau in ritmul asta pana in martie ar avea cel putin jumatate de an free trial ).

VG247 Blog Archive FFXIV PS3 port development done
Square has confirmed in this week’s issue of Famitsu the process of porting Final Fantasy XIV from PC to PS3 is now done.

The MMO port job is actually playable on the console right now.
Square also says to the magazine FFXIV PS3 will run on the same servers that run the PC version.
Other then a few noticable differences in texture stuff, it’ll run exactly the same as it does on PC.
FFXIV hasn’t gotten off to the best start on PC, though. It’s been totally lambasted by critics and has been given a 51 on Meta.
Square’s senior vice president of software development, Hiromichi Tanaka, said previously gamers had a “high expectation” for the game and the firm was working hard to ensure it ends up being all it was expected to be.
At gamescom, Tanaka told VG247 the reason the PS3 version was delayed was because of memory issues.
Yesterday, Square said it had extended the free trial period by a further 30 days.
    FFXIV PS3 releases in March.

PlayStation LifeStyle Moogles Find Gold; Final Fantasy XIV Finished on PS3

Popular Japanese magazine Famitsu has provided a golden nugget of information this week regarding Final Fantasy XIV. According to the magazine, the PlayStation 3 version of the title has reached gold status. That’s right, the game’s development has hit completion and should be ready for store shelves soon.

Final Fantasy XIV Producers Detail PlayStation 3 Version (andriasang.com, 11.17.2010)

Regarding differences between the PC and PS3 versions, Tanaka said "There is great difference in memory size, so we're placing effort into fitting as many resources as possible into limited memory and getting the most performance out of the CPU. On the graphics side, there will be areas with slight differences, such as texture resolution, but when seeing it it motion there won't be much difference. Of course, the game itself is the same, so PC players who play the PS3 version won't feel anything out of place."
The PC and PS3 versions will share the same servers, Tanaka told the magazine. However, it's possible that they'll add more worlds to match any increases in player count.
Newcomer PS3 players will obviously be at a disadvantage as far as game progress is concerned. Komoto said that they're looking into a few things to deal with this issue. One example could be offering merits to groups when newcomer players that they've invited into their community advance in level.

VG247 Blog Archive FFXIV PS3 delayed, PC trial period gets extended, dev team restructured
    Oh dear.

Square’s just announced a delay to Final Fantasy XIV on PS3 on the game’s official website. The MMO’s free period trial has also been extended by a further 90 days and the development team has also been restructured.
Square president Yoichi Wada has issued an apology on the website for the delay of the PS3 version, which was due in March next year, something Wada had previously promised was still on course for.
Development of the port was said to be done last month.
“Regarding the PlayStation 3, it is not our wish to release a simple conversion of the Windows version in its current state, but rather an update that includes all the improvements we have planned,” said Wada.
“For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of the PlayStation 3 version beyond the originally announced date of March 2011.”
The core development team has also been restructured, with Naoki Yoshida taking over as director and producer from Hiromichi Tanaka and Nobuaki Komoto respectively, the latter now being lead game designer.
Further restructuring has also been confirmed on the game’s website.
Furthermore, the 90 day free trial period for the PC version has been extended once again.
FFXIV hasn’t gotten off to the best start on PC since it launched in September. It’s been totally lambasted by critics and has been given a 51 on Meta.
Tanaka said previously gamers had a “high expectation” for the game and the firm was working hard to ensure it ends up being all it was expected to be.
At gamescom, Tanaka told VG247 the reason the PS3 version was delayed previously into March was because of memory issues.

VG247 Blog Archive Naoki Yoshida wants FFVII atmosphere for FFXIV Online
so do we Naoki...so do we
    .......
Yoshida said the long-delayed PlayStation 3 version was put on the back burner when problems with the PC version “piled up”, and a decision was made to focus on one system at a time. While the PS3 port had its own issues, the massive challenge of bringing the PC version up to scratch precluded spreading the team thin.
The director confirmed the PS3 version will release eventually, and even hinted that it would proof an option for those PC gamers whose older rigs struggle to do justice to FFXIV’s flashy visuals.

Final Fantasy XIV Online to focus on large-party play | VG247
Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida has said he wants to shift the game’s focus towads large-party content, “as quickly as possible”.

“We’re still on the fence a bit about balancing the degree of difficulty for fifteen-member parties,” Yoshida said in his third producer’s letter since he took over the helm of FFXIV Online.
“But I personally am of the opinion that everyone playing together is what makes the game fun. And so that is the direction in which I would like to take the game, and take it as quickly as possible.”
Smaller parties won’t be neglected, as Yoshida promises ongoing balancing for eight and four-member party content, while rewards for larger parties will be increased.
Yoshida’s open approach to addressing Final Fantasy XIV’s many perceived woes resulted in his posting the latest version of a massive planned updates chart, and inviting players to participate in a second poll to determine future priorities.
    Thanks, Massively.

FFXI, FFXIV, Metal Gear Online servers offline | VG247
Japan-hosted multiplayer servers are being shut down to conserve power in the wake of the earthquake and associated nuclear power plant damage.

Square Enix confirmed the temporary closure of Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV servers, as well as PlayOnline services, via a post on the PlayOnline news portal, The Lodestone.
“Due to the continuous earthquakes occurring in the eastern regions of Japan since March 11 2011, the power companies in Japan have encouraged everyone to cooperate by conserving as much energy as possible as it is feared there will not be enough power supply,” the post explains, before noting that players will not be charged any subscription costs during April.
The Kojima Pro Live Twitter feed confirmed that Metal Gear Online would also go dark.
“To conserve power we are temporarily stopping the MGO servers. Timing for the recommencement is TBD. Sorry for the inconvenience.”

Final Fantasy XIV Producer Announces Plans for the Future

Naoki Yoshida, producer for the MMO Final Fantasy XIV by Square Enix has written a letter on the Square Enix FFXIV forums addressed to fans, outlining grand sweeping changes for the game around summertime. It’s a huge list of changes and fans will not want to miss reading it for themselves, but here’s a summary.
The battle system will strive to increase reward and reduce monotony. Players will be rewarded for "playing their character’s role to perfection," and penalized for "only having half their heart in the battle." Revisions to the Armory system and battle algorithms will be the main focus (in the form of an Auto-Attack feature.)
There are still no plans to charge a subscription fee for the service until a fully developed plan is in place.

The PS3 Version of Final Fantasy XIV is Coming Says Square | PlayStation LifeStyle
Final Fantasy XIV began with a rocky launch on the PC, and a popular thought was that the PlayStation 3 version would be cancelled because of it. According to Square Enix, however, the PS3 version is still in development.
In an interview published by the Official Final Fantasy XIV community team, producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed the PS3 was on its way.
Of course. Development is proceeding, do not worry! The PS3 version will come out at all costs.
It has been close to a year since the release on PC and Square Enix has spent most of that time trying to fix or revamp the game, changing up a lot of what the game featured when it launched. It will be interesting to see how far along the game has come when it releases for the PlayStation 3.
While it is nice to hear the game is still in development, many are likely still looking for something more concrete like a release date. Stick with us for more information on Final Fantasy XIV when it releases.

Final Fantasy XIV to drop two level system | VG247
The somewhat confusing character development system of Final Fantasy XIV is due for an overhaul.

A post on the game’s forums announced that patch 1.19 is expected to remove physical levels from the game.
Currently, players level their character and their class; post patch, only class based levels will exist. Players will no longer be able to allocate attribute and element points.
Instead, the patch will introduce a temporary automatic levelling system. While player control of stat increases will return in future, for now, Square Enix is concentrating on making each level have more impact.
Dinging is expected to have much more noticable jumps in a player’s performance, although at higher levels, equipment will have increased importance.
A few other small changes come in support of the new system. Races will now only be differentiated by starting attributes, and a few terminology changes mean Skill Points are now Experience Points, and Ranks are now Levels.
The patch is still in development and no release date has been set.
Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG which came under heavy criticism upon launch and is undergoing serious overhauls; a PlayStation 3 version has been put on hold until the wrinkles are smoothed out.

Producer letter reveals target date for major Final Fantasy XIV patch | VG247
Final Fantasy XIVs new producer Naoki Yoshida has had the unenviable task of fixing the thoroughly broken MMO, and has given a tentative date for a major patch in his latest letter to the community.
In the letter Yoshida reveals that his team is shooting for a September 30th release of the next major patch which will bring all-new content, Chocobos and major front-and-back end system updates to the MMO in an attempt to bring it closer to the product Yoshida has in the past admitted it should have been at launch.
Yoshidas letter also reveals that characters and their retainers will get an upgrade to their storage capacity, allowing players to hold and store more items long-term.
Yoshida took over as Producer from Hiromichi Tanaka after Tanaka was forced to step down after negative reception from fans and critics alike when a properly broken Final Fantasy XIV first launched. Hes been writing regular public letters to the fans ever since taking over, keeping them abreast of changes he and his team are making or intending to make.
The PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV has been indefinitely delayed until the PC version is improved significantly.

Final Fantasy brand “greatly damaged,” says Wada | VG247
Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada has said that the Final Fantasy brand had been “greatly damaged” following the launch of Final Fantasy XIV last year.
Speaking at a press conference in Japan this morning, Wada merely said in simple terms “The Final Fantasy brand has been greatly damaged,” when asked about FFXIV.
The Squeenix president added, however, that it would “continue with our reform work, which basically amounts to fully redoing the game, and hope to revive the FFXIV that should have been released.”
No mention was made of the PS3 version, which has gone quiet since gamescom last year.
Final Fantasy XIV launched last September for PC, but got out of the game with bad reviews and more.

Articolul asta mi-a readus o parte din incredere in privinta acestui joc

The merger will happen on March 27, with Square players advised to transfer their characters and select a new world for it between March 1 and March 19 otherwise it’ll be picked for them come the transfer deadline on March 19.

The current existing world servers will be renamed New World for a period, with New World 10 advised for French and German-speaking players.

This merger is “intended to improve the player experience” ahead of the Version 2.0 update for the MMO later this year.

Anyway enjoy a colourful, epic, orchestral video.

in sfarsit primim niste detalii despre versiunea de ps3: Final Fantasy 14 PS3 screens show off console interface | VG247
Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn is nearly upon us, which means the MMORPG’s long-delayed PlayStation 3 launch is nearly within reach. Check out these screenshots showing off the console interface in both Japanese and English, as well as some art from the new content arriving with the relaunch.

The PS3 version allows for up to 16 abilities on the action bar; the slots are mapped to the controller’s eight directional keys and face buttons, with either L2 or R2 activating one of two options for each key.

You’re not restricted to six shortcuts, though; by tapping L2 and R2 together, you can cycle to a new saved action bar, of which you can have up to eight. It sounds like a neat solution.

In with the screens is some artwork showing Odin, Leviathan, a level 40 dungeon, and chocobos in hats. Hats! It’s the future.

A Realm Reborn is going into alpha in November; the PS3 launch is expected around New Year.
Concept art-urile! Those are some amazing looking creatures!
