Splinter Cell Conviction

Although the news that Splinter Cell: Conviction would welcome back Chaos Theory�s co-op story mode of sorts was enough for Splinter Cell fans the world over to rejoice, that joy was cut short somewhat when they heard the news that the popular Spies vs. Mercs multiplayer mode would be cut from the package.

Speaking with X360A in London recently, Creative Director on the title, Maxime Beland, told us that it was too risky to create considering that they were trying to revamp the series in the first place.

�It was really a question of not being able to do it,� said Beland, �Doing Spies vs. Mercs is a whole new ball game and because we had changed the gameplay so much, we didn�t want to take the risk � on top of redefining what Splinter Cell and what stealth is.�

�You know, going into Spies vs. Mercs is a whole new ball game because that�s a game mode that needs to be balanced super well because of its asymmetric gameplay,� he continued.

�The smart move was to not do it right away and to make sure we nail out of the park our core gameplay for Conviction.�

But what about the future of that very popular multiplayer mode?

�We already have some good ideas if we are to do another Splinter Cell game,� Beland noted, �We�ve got some good ideas for multiplayer,� he continued with a huge grin across his face.

Quick to respond, we asked about the potential of seeing it as DLC in the title. �I�m not allowed to talk about DLC, obviously,� Beland said, quick to shoot down any sort of concrete answer about the future of the mode with Conviction.

�Ubisoft supports their games very well when they have a multiplayer component, so I�m sure you can imagine what that means, but I�m not going to comment on any game mode or any anything DLC,� he concluded.

Read into the future of the mode how you want, but the simple fact remains, you don�t have Spies vs. Mercs this time around because they were concentrating on getting the new core gameplay nailed down perfectly.

Makes sense and thankfully, it doesn�t sound like the end of the road for that game mode either. Let�s just hope that its return comes sooner rather than later.

e genial demo-ul. l-am terminat de 3 ori si ma mai bag la o tura

o singura chestia nu-mi place. cum face dupa ce il bati pe unu hand to hand, dungile alea 3 si zgomotu ala urat, ca sa-ti arate ca poti sa executi "mark and execute"...

Bun. Am jucat demo, imi place jocul si totusi nu. In primul rand termenul de stealth aproape ca a disparut. Faptul ca te furisezi prin spatele inamicilor ca o pisica neagra, nu inseamna ca jocul este pur stealth. Asta o poti face si in MW sau BF.Nu inteleg de ce i-au pus ochelarii aia pe cap, atata timp cat singura functie pe care o au, este sonar vision, functie care mi se pare putin inutila, mai ales ca nu prea poti juca cu ea activata. Sa trecem putin peste gadgets. Ai intr-adevar cateva jucarii de care poti face uz ca sa treci de un grup mai mare de inamici, care apropo, sunt mai prosti decat noaptea, dar astea sunt toate? Adica am grenade, doua tipuri de EMP (unul dintre ele aproape inutil pentru ca tine maxim o secunda), o camera lipicioasa care nu stie decat sa cante o melodie pe care poti dansa in jurul palariei si sa explodeze. Sa nu mai spun ca melodia aia canta de parca acea camera are sistem 5.1 pe ea, iar inamicii nu o vad. Cauta innebuniti in jurul ei si nu aud decat "What is that sound?", dar in momentul in care omor doi sau trei dintre ei, cu toate ca sunt in bezna totala si nu au cum sa ma vada, se aude: "It's Sam Fisher! Kill him!". Pai cum stiu ei ca sunt acolo cand nici macar eu nu ma observ decat ca o pata neagra? Sa nu mai spun ca alerg pe o pasarela aflata exact deasupra inamicilor, fac cat de mult zgomot posibil si ei nu ma aud, dar in schimb aud cand sparg un bec aflat la 200 m de ei. Gata, l-am laudat destul.

Concluzie: Daca va ganditi la Conviction, ca la primele jocuri ale seriei, luati-va adio. Acesta este altceva. Il putem numi Splinter Cell: Hollywood, iar personajul principal este Bruce Willis. Nu este un joc prost, doar ca nu este Splinter Cell cu care eram obisnuit. Modificarile aduse, sunt enorme.

Apare și pe PC deodată cu versiunea pentru X360. Niciodată Splinter Cell n-a fost exclusiv console. Și dacă stau bine să mă g�ndesc parcă mai apare și pe Nintendo DS (dar asta nu știu sigur).

Pe mine nu m-au deranjat (atat de tare) cele spuse de Mo, cat dificultatea foarte scazuta. L-am terminat de 3 ori, fara sa mor, ceea ce spune foarte multe. Bun, sa spunem si ca e un demo pentru demo, atat de scurt a parut, dar totusi... Anyhow, il voi juca in draci.

Desi este adevarat ce a zis Mo, asta este, din pacate, nivelul jocurile aparute in ultimii ani (mass effect, batman aa...).

Asta nu inseamna ca nu trebuie sa ne bucuram de ele asa cum sunt. Iar jocul asta este foarte tare

ciudat demoul. cred ca m-am incurcat in controale ca nu am reusit sa folosesc nici un gadget. faza cu marcatu iar nu imi place. este prea artificiala treaba...sa omori hand to hand ca sa poti sa faci mark and execute. mi se pare cam aiurea. inteleg ca au vrut ceva mai multa actiune insa mi se pare mult prea multa actiune si aproape zero stealth. nu stiu, parca esti incurajat sa intri undeva guns blazing.

eu am murit de 3 ori cind am intrat in tunel pentru ca tot incercam sa folosesc un gadget, ceva, si nu am inteles cum. mi-am bagat beep si i-am macelarit pe toti cu mitraliera.
