Recent anuntatul model CECH-3000B de 320GB, care va consuma mai putin curent si va cantari mai putin, pare sa aiba o trasatura aditionala care ii va face pe multi PS3 gameri fericiti (si pe altii tristi deoarece nu au acest nou model). Dupa ce au aparut specificatiile pe site-ul nipon Sony, este clar ca noul PS3 va fi compatibil cu PS2-ul. Microsoft a vandut 1.5 milioane de unitati Xbox 360 in Japonia. Acest lucru este in concordanta cu spusele site-ului japonez Wazap, care anunta atingerea scopului in numarul de vanzari al consolei, dupa 5 ani si jumatate de la lansare, acesta fiind lansat in Japonia in Decembrie 2005.
